The Valentino Rockstud. Need I say more?
Wow, my inaugural blog! Many of my friends and family have suggested that I should start a blog, so after reading Blogging for Dummies, (that would be me!) I figured I would just get started. I actually just started reading some blogs and already have a few favorites! These ladies are truly intimidating. The hair, makeup and professional photography are gorgeous, equally matched by the exceptional layouts, etc....I didn't want to start a blog until I had it all figured out. At my age, that may never happen, so here I am.
I am a professional shopper and former retailer buyer. I stopped working after having my second child. I loved, loved my career and had every intention of going back to it, but it just never worked out. I started selling my maternity clothes and household items on eBay for some extra money, and a new career (or should I say obsession) was born. Do you ever go shopping and see something that is too good to be true, but it's just not your size? It's so hard to walk away from that sometimes. Well, I don't walk away. I scoop it up and add it to my store on ebay. I started off very small; a one for you one for me type of thing. At first it was like stealing candy from a baby, and I couldn't believe my good fortune. I would reinvest in more inventory and, before I knew it, I was wearing designer clothing that I never would have dreamed I would ever be able to afford. The perfect career for a shopaholic. Well, I am not stealing candy from a baby anymore. Shopping has definitely become a competitive sport, and the competition is fierce. That, coupled with the down-turn in the economy, has left me with lower sales and profits. Thus the blogging; a shameful way to plug my eBay store. I also hope to share some of my shopping knowledge with you as I develop my social media skills.
Enough about me, let's talk about one of my all time favorite purchases, the Valentino Rockstud Pumps in Fuchsia/Poudre. I really had to wheel and deal to get these shoes, but it was definitely worth the effort. I have sold different colors and sizes of this shoe in my eBay store, but have never been lucky enough to come across a pair in my size. The way I justify it is by selling a few pairs and taking the money to buy a pair in my size, with a little cash to spare. My customers get an authentic item for less than retail, and I get the exact pair I want. When I decide I am over pink (which will be never), or that I can't walk in a heel that high (I will suffer), I will sell them on eBay, and will get back a good chunk of my original investment.
